This cake included: 130 Pampers Swaddler Diapers, 2 Parent's Choice baby bottles, cardboard cake round, and 12 yards of premium ribbon. The 2" ribbon is a wired ribbon, the others are not. I was really quite pleased with the way this cake turned out. I loved playing around with the ribbon widths on this cake and am loving the alternating layers! It is the first 4 tier cake I had created but I am sure only the first of many to come!

That's what little boys are made of!
I am sorry it took me a while to get the photos up of the most recent diaper cake. I have been very busy this past week with alterations to be done and multiple meetings. But without further ado I would like to introduce you to the "Eli's Elephant" diaper cake, inspired by Pottery Barn Kids. This cake was shipped out Wednesday to a customer in Ohio.

Surpise!
So I am excited to report to you that a new cake will be added on here soon. It was inspired by Pottery Barn kid's baby collection called "Eli's Elephant". The elephants are adorable (especially on the bedding). I have been asked to recreate a cake inspired by the theme of this bedding. I found quite a few ribbons at Michael's last week that fit this theme perfectly! Seeing as this cake is a baby boy's cake I knew I needed a topper that was something other than flowers. It wasn't until yesterday that I found the perfect elephant to top off this 4-tier beauty. I found a Carter's brand elephant at Target that (to my surprise) matched almost perfectly to the elephants found at Pottery Barn. Needless to say, I can not wait to see the finished product. I hope you are as excited as I am. Check back soon!

Ribbon Solutions
So, since I have been making all of these cakes I have a slew of ribbon. When I say alot I mean ALOT. So I had to figure out a way to store it. I got this awesome ribbon storage unit from my sister for christmas but some of the smaller ribbon doesn't fit on the dowel rod. So instead of splurging on a different unit I decided to purchase some photo storage boxes from Walmart.
What you will need:
White storage box from Walmart
30 Rivets
A whole punch or sharp object
Rivet tool
PATIENCE
The finished product looks like this. If anyone wants instructions on how to make this let me know. It is great to keep all of your ribbon in one spot and out of sight!

Diaper Cakes - Pea in a Pod
This month I created a diaper cake for a woman at my Mom's church. I call it the "Pea in the Pod" cake because of the pea green accents. I love the color combination of teal, brown, and pea green. This cake includes 80 Huggies Size 1-2 diapers, 1 Parent's Choice bottle, 1 14" cardboard cake circle, brown paper shreds, and 3 wooden artificial flowers (pea green) from Pier 1. Aren't this flowers beautiful? I wish I would have bought the store out when I first got them. The miniature bows were added down the front of the cake for a special touch.
Pier 1 sells these wooden flowers as reed diffusers but I love them trimmed and used as cake toppers. They give this cake a organic/natural feel when combined with the brown paper shreds. This cake could even be remade with eco-friendly diapers.
Below is a close up of the ribbon on this cake. The first 2 ribbons were found at Michael's and the last one is from Joann Fabrics.
